Does anyone recognise the following agricultural names and places? I would love to be able to examine and / or photograph original documents when I visit the area in June 09:
William Sinden Mortley b1842
sister Martha Dryland nee Mortley b1837 d 1914 had lots of illigitimate children… husband
Edwin Dryland d1916 was working at Old Hall Farm in 1911. How much did he earn?
niece Annie Elizabeth Mortley b 1872 what happened to her?
William and Martha were born in Watsons Cottages where Mortleys had lived since 1841 or before. Do they still stand? Did they belong to Old Hall Farm?
Is that where Martha’s oldest son Edward William (or William Edward) b 1856 worked, possibly as a carter?
Fingers crossed that you can help…
Cheers, Karen.
